Hercolaneum Untold History goes back almost 2,000 years ago, when Pompeii was covered by a layer of ashes and lapillus due to a Vesuvius explosion and Herculaneum was submerged by a thick layer of mud and lava instead. The mud preserved the cities, sealing everything forever. In 1738 King Charles of Bourbon ordered the start of the excavations.

At Herculaneum the wealthy Romans enjoyed their vacations, as  their luxury villa on the sea still witness.

We will  see the most beautiful dwellings of the old city: the House of the Mosaic Atrium, the House of Neptune and Amphitrite and the House of the Deer. We will also take a stroll along the Decumanus, the Palestra and the Basilica.

Visit the Thermal Baths of the Forum, the public bathing houses of the city, and the House of the carbonized furniture, where you can actually see how the wooden furniture are still in the original place.
